Burglary to steal car keys

Overnight on 9/10 April a House Burglary occurred at Wisteria Close Rushden where forced entry was gained via the rear door. The car keys for a black BMW X4 car were taken and the vehicle was stolen. However, a few hours later our officers located the vehicle in the far north the county and it has been recovered.

Should you have any information or CCTV footage that may assist us with our enquiries, please call 101 quoting the Crime Ref. No 25000206631.

In the last week we have seen an increase in vehicle thefts in the Rushden area, some via the Relay Amplificatuon method. We would therefore encourage you to keep you vehicle keys in a safe place, preferably in a Faraday box or pouch which will prevent car thieves being able to boost the signal from your remote control to open your car. This is particularly important if your vehicle has keyless ignition as if they are able to open your car by boosting the signal, then all they need to do is press the start button in order to drive it away.

Kind regards,

Peter Littleton
